Our listings provide information about the genre specialities of each teacher on their profile, so you can better assess which teacher is right for the ambitions you have for your musical journey.

We recommend compiling a shortlist of 2-3 teachers which you may like to work with and giving each of them a call to see their availability, introducing yourself and setting up an initial trial lesson.

Hi, I’m Sara, a professional Singing Teacher with 15 years experience. I work with Adults and young people (from age 10) of all abilities, developing vocal confidence, tone, range, breathing technique and performance techniques. I also work on elements like keeping rhythm, ability to sing in tune (intonation) – of course it depends on each student’s abilities and after your first assessment lesson, I will formulate a teaching plan tailor made for you.I’m passionate about singing all contemporary musical genres ie. Pop, RnB, Jazz and Gospel, Indie etc. and work towards encouraging and informing my students from my love of singing and music.

My teaching studio is in Cockfosters, Barnet, but obviously at the moment I’m teaching solely online.
I studied at Goldsmiths, University of London where I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Music Teaching and I have BAST singing teaching certificates Levels 1 and 2.

I also teach the ABRSM graded vocal examination syllabus – so I can coach you if you are interested in that pathway.
In addition to my singing teaching, I am Musical Director for two Adult Community Choirs.

My own singing experience is with Jazz/Pop groups, Gospel Choirs and Jazz Choirs and have performed at many of London’s major event venues as a solo artist and with groups.

My teaching approach is student-centred and I will always focus my lessons on helping you to achieve your specific vocal goals.

Beginner Piano, Classical singing, pop/jazz/r&b singing

Have you ever followed along with your favourite songs and wished you had a better voice? Have you ever wanted to play the piano but felt intimidated by how complicated it seems? Put your hesitations to rest. I’ll help you discover and improve your singing voice or learn how to play the piano. And we’re going to have fun while doing so!

I’m Selin Asar, an experienced and trained musician who has been teaching voice and piano lessons for over ten years now. It doesn’t matter how young you are. I’ve worked with people of all ages (from 6 – 60 years old) and age has never been a problem when it comes to learning. So long as you’re passionate to learn, I’ll help you every step of the way. I studied in the opera-choir department of Ankara University State Conservatory. After graduating with an honours degree in the opera department, I continued my education to be a teacher. It allowed me to work at various art schools and improve my skills in teaching voice and piano lessons. I realised I need to get even better if I want to change people’s lives and improve the education system so I embarked on a master’s programme at the Department of Educational Sciences. The best part of that is I qualified for the Erasmus+ Internship Program here in the UK. I’ve been teaching here for over 4 years and highly adapted multicultural education approaches.

During this time in the UK, I completed my master’s and have been working on publishing my research here.

I’m keen on following well-thought-out lesson plans and developing authentic teaching materials and activities. I teach through visuals, games, songs and chants. And I incorporate real-world materials and technology in my lessons. I believe that as a teacher I must also keep on learning and improving myself.

In my free time, I practice yoga, compose songs and DJing.

I’d love to discuss your aspirations and goals and how I can help you.

Please get in touch and I hope to hear from you soon.

BMus (Hons) in Music Performance, Estill Figure Proficiency (Estill Voice Training)

Hi, I’m Dimitris. I’m a Singing Coach working in London since 2014 and I love my job because I meet and help creative people by showing them a way to achieve their goals in a positive environment. I have a BMus (Hons) in Music Performance from London Centre of Contemporary Music as a vocalist, an EFP (Estill Figure Proficiency) certificate from Estill Voice Training and years of experience and knowledge attained through private tuition, attendance of workshops, choir singing, conservatoire studies and performing in several music projects.

I work with singers on various music genres, including pop, rock, blues, jazz, musical theatre, as well as actors preparing songs for auditions, instrumentalists who want to sing lead or backing vocals, songwriters who want to perform their songs, choir singers, voice teachers who aim to expand their knowledge anatomically on how the voice works, children and adults who want to apply for music schools or just enjoy singing.

Sessions are based on exploring, understanding and improving the client’s voice, but they often expand to guitar/piano accompaniment, stylistic performance and stage presence, performance anxiety, repertoire expansion, songwriting, music theory, sight reading, career discussions, or other subjects of interest.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I expect to pay for Music Tuition?

There are many factors that affect the price of one-to-one music lessons, such as qualifications, experience, and whether the teacher travels to you or teachers from home.

The Musicians’ Union recommends an hourly rate of £35 for music teaching, however, in our experience, this is normally higher in London and you can expect to pay anything from £40-60 per hour.

Most importantly, you should find the right teacher for you (or your child).

  • Are your teachers CRB checked?

We don’t verify that teachers on our database are CRB checked, but most music teachers who have worked in the UK school system, will be required to maintain a regular CRB, and will always list it on their profile.

  • What's the typical length of a lesson?

Lesson length is a common question we get asked.

The first thing we suggest taking into consideration is the age of the student, we find that younger beginners, can benefit from regular lessons of 30 – 45 Minutes each, as their attention span is less than the typical adult.

  • I'm a Teacher, how can I be listed on your site?

To be listed as a teacher on our site, please fill out the form on the sign-up page, with all the relevant information completed. A few things we require, up to date pricing, locations, styles.

  • Do you have Teachers outside the North London area?

As we’re based in North London and we specialise in providing a local service, we are at this time only listing teachers within boroughs in North London, our Teachers list and service coverage will be expanded upon over time.
