MPerf (Distinction): Guildhall School of Music and Drama, BMus (First Class): Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

Hello!

I am a recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Distinction in my Masters of Performance degree in Orchestral Artistry – Flute.

I really love to perform whenever I can, however instrumental teaching has been so rewarding over the last few years and it is a pleasure to meet and work with such a variety of students from beginner to advanced levels.
I am comfortable entering students in for exams depending on their individual needs and also enjoy looking for alternative events/opportunities as necessary.

As a Yeoman Young Artist for The Musicians’ Company I have also carried out multiple workshops across primary schools in London introducing children to the fundamentals of music and, for many, their first experience of live classical music. My outreach experience has included work with the London Symphony Orchestra’s Community & Outreach Programme.

I have worked as a freelancer across London and the South West and have performed at many major venues, including being a concerto soloist at St-Martin-in-the-Fields. I also love chamber music having performed as part of wind quintets, chamber orchestras and more recently as part of a Flute and Piano duo called The Luna Duo.

Overall, I love meeting new people in the work that I do and am keen to be reliable, hard-working and most of all friendly in everything that I do.

When I am not busy with musical engagements I enjoy baking, running, going to the cinema and playing games!

Feel free to get in touch and I look forward to meeting you.

Grade 8 ABSRM Flute, 1st Class in BA (Hons) Actor Musicianship

I am an enthusiastic & passionate young professional flute player, based in the Alexandra Park area, keen to find beginner students to teach!

I have been playing flute for 14 years, completed all ABRSM exams to grade 8, and have a 1st class honours in BA (hons) Actor Musicianship.

Since graduating, I have been working as a session flautist, playing live and touring with various high profile artists, including Grammy Award winning reggae artist Koffee. I play flute in both a professional Irish folk band and a Neo-soul jazz group. Although classically trained, I now record for artists and composers in all kind of genres: pop, jazz, trap & drill and film & TV – genres which, when I began learning flute, had never even thought were a possibility for a flute player!

I love to help students reach their full potential, whether that be through the traditional ABRSM grades, or exploring other styles like jazz and improvisation. Most of all, music is fun and making music on the flute is even better (it really is the best instrument in my not at all biased opinion!) and I bring joy and creativity to each lesson as well as all the technical knowledge too!

I also play saxophone, bass guitar and work as a music producer and song-writer. You can look at my music work through my instagram: @bellabandbeats

National Classical Music Performance with specialisation in Classical Western Flute, No.1 State Complex in Warsaw (POEZSM)

A majority of my education was conducted at a musical conservatoire in Warsaw, Poland. During my studies, I won numerous awards, including national competitions (both as a soloist, in ensembles, as well as in orchestras). I later graduated with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, with Grade 7 in Higher Level Music.

Since graduating, I had an opportunity to work as a session musician in prestigious venues including the Concert Studio of Polish Radio, the Slovak Radio Building and the Polish National Opera.

Currently, alongside teaching online via a music education agency, I’m in my final year of studying at the London College of Music where I’m gaining more experience in improvisation and contemporary music performance. I also work as a recording artist, producer and songwriter.

Master of Music in Performance (jazz flute), Bachelor of Music with Honours (classical flute)

I am a music teacher and performer based in North London. I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and obtained my Specialist Diploma from the Prague Conservatoire. I am predominantly a flute player, but also enjoy teaching piano and music theory. Curious about different musical traditions, I perform and teach classical music, Brazilian music, jazz, pop and rock.

I am passionate about helping students of all abilities access music. I have experience teaching all ages, and enjoy helping my students achieve their musical goals and discover their creative potential. I have taught at several schools, currently Northbridge House School, City of London Academy Highbury Grove, Young Music Makers in London. I also taught at specialist music schools in Prague. My students have a 100% pass rate in graded exams.

These days, I split my time between teaching, practising, performing, and recording activities. I have recently had the privilege to record alongside the legendary Jacob Collier. I have been performing regularly with Rhythms of the City samba band, with whom we have recently performed at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. I lead my own band Aquarela specialised in Brazilian music, performing at intimate venues around London. Thanks to my university, I have performed in jazz bands alongside artists like Gareth Lockrane, Julian Joseph, Joe Stilgoe, Tim Garland, Ivo Neame, or Iain Ballamy.

As an orchestral player, I have toured Europe with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (BBC Blue Planet II Tour 2019, including concerts for 10K audiences), the Czech National Symphony Orchestra (UK Tour 2018, including venues like Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall or Birmingham Symphony Hall) and the Pilsen Philharmonic (Harry Potter 3 Tour 2019). I performed a whole season of the Phantom of the Opera production in Prague. I have played in numerous opera and ballet productions with the North Bohemian Theatre, including master pieces like Nabucco, Aida, The Bartered Bride,  The Barber of Seville, Peer Gynt, or Swan lake. I have played symphonic performances with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Pardubice, Talich Philharmonia, and contemporary music with the Berg Orchestra. In the UK, I have had the pleasure to play with the Southampton Philharmonic Society, World Harmony Orchestra, Les Fauristes Chamber Choir and Orchestra, or Adoramus Orchestra (Royal Albert Hall 2017).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I expect to pay for Music Tuition?

There are many factors that affect the price of one-to-one music lessons, such as qualifications, experience, and whether the teacher travels to you or teachers from home.

The Musicians Union recommends an hourly rate of £35 for music teaching, however, in our experience, this is normally higher in London and you can expect to pay anything from £40-60 per hour.

Most importantly, you should find the right teacher for you (or your child).

  • Are your teachers CRB checked?

We don’t verify that teachers on our database are CRB checked, but most music teachers who have worked in the UK school system, will be required to maintain a regular CRB, and will always list it on their profile.

  • What's the typical length of a lesson?

Lesson length is a common question we get asked.

The first thing we suggest taking into consideration is the age of the student, we find that younger beginners, can benefit from regular lessons of 30 – 45 Minutes each, as their attention span is less than the typical adult.

  • I'm a Teacher, how can I be listed on your site?

To be listed as a teacher on our site, please fill out the form, with all the relevant information completed. A few things we require, up to date pricing, locations, styles.

  • Do you have Teachers outside the North London area?

As we’re based in North London and we specialise in providing a local service, we are at this time only listing teachers within boroughs in North London, our Teachers list and service coverage will be expanded upon over time.
