North London Piano Teachers
On this page you’ll find a range of different Piano Teachers covering the North London area.
All listings have the key information presented, such as; price, coverage area, contact information, travel information and qualifications. Where applicable, each teacher has provided their genre specialities, such as Jazz or Classical, which can help you find the best teacher for the style of music you wish to learn. Each profile has been written and completed by the music teacher themselves.
Please note that none of the teachers on this site have been independently verified by ourselves and we do not verify or ask for a CRB (or equivalent) check, or any proof of qualifications prior to the teachers appearing on this list.
Finding a Piano Teacher
When considering which Piano teacher is for you, think about which style of music you would like to pursue. Most teachers will have one or two styles that they specialise in above others. Our listings provide information about the genre specialities of each teacher on their profile, so you can better assess which teacher is right for the ambitions you have for your musical journey.
We recommend compiling a shortlist of 2-3 teachers which you may like to work with and giving each of them a call to see their availability, introducing yourself and setting up an initial trial lesson.

I am a classically trained singer and pianist based in London with teaching experience for over 10 years online and in-person.
I have obtained my Bachelor degree in piano & music education at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany, my master’s diploma in vocal pedagogy at the Conservatory of Lucerne and my master`s degree in vocal performance at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a pianist, I have been performing on stage since the age of 7 and have been a member of several chamber music formations such as the Lower Saxony Youth Symphony Orchestra (NJO). I have been awarded the 2nd Prize in the Piano Solo Category of the national youth competition “Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert” in Germany.
I have been teaching piano to students from Years 7 to 18 for many years at the International Boarding School Ecole d’Humanité in Switzerland and have experience in working individually as well as with small groups.
I have been preparing my students regularly for school performances and ABRSM exams.
Besides my work at the Ecole d’Humanité, I have been teaching singing and piano to private students of various ages and nationalities and been giving vocal masterclasses in Jakarta and Bandung on my Indonesian concert tour in 2019.
I enjoy very much the process of helping people of any age discover their talents. It is never too late to learn something new!
I make sure to tailor my lessons to my student’s needs and wishes and help them improve their technique and musicality in a safe and positive environment. Being an active performer myself with a lot of experience on stage, I can especially help with performance skills such as stage presence, storytelling and stage fright.
Lessons are possible in different languages, such as English, German or Russian.

I have over 20yrs experience of teaching pupils aged 4-18yrs. I have taught in several local schools but now (due to lockdown) am offering online lessons. I love teaching music theory for those interested in moving beyond Grade 5 (ABRSM) on their given instrument. Understanding music theory fills in the holes/gaps in knowledge gained purely from practical experience.
I also promote songwriting and have recently launched Songwriting4kids which incorporates basic music theory with learning how to write songs.
Feel free to contact me to find out more or just to ‘sound me out’.

I am an enthusiastic, an experienced, classically trained piano, guitar and ukulele teacher.
I specialise in teaching children from early age. However, all ages are welcome.
In my lessons I’ll teach you not only to play piano or guitar, but also the language of music.
In my lessons I teach all the basics, step by step: Where the notes are on the piano or guitar, how to read notes, how to, build chords, music theory, right position and dynamics. Also I aim to teach you a new song in every lesson. So, while playing songs from classic, pop, rock and diverse hits you’ll learn to read music and improve your technique.
My approach is friendly and encouraging and it is important to me that you don’t only make progress, but also enjoy playing and practicing.
Lessons will be tailored to suit individual goals and needs.
Also I’m a very patient teacher.
Due to the current pandemic situation I am now teaching all my pupils online on Zoom and Skype.

I teach people of all ages and abilities and am happy to fit the lessons around what you would like to learn. I went through the traditional ABRSM grade format myself but went on to study popular music and songwriting, so can adapt to teach in a range of musical styles.
Although I have the most experience teaching piano, I can also offer flute tuition and music theory/composition tuition as well. I feel that there is often a lot of focus in music lessons around the performance aspect, and whilst this is obviously very important I like to keep the creative side of things present in lessons too.

Degree of Professional Musician/Pianist, Belgrade University of Arts, Faculty of Music; Master of Arts in Music (Performance in Piano) at The City University, London, UK; Academic Certificate in Piano Faculty, The State Moscow Conservatoire P.I. Tchaikovsky, Moscow
As an award-winning classical pianist, experienced piano educator and specialising in preventing occupational injuries in keyboard players, I have dedicated myself to teaching junior and adult pianists, from beginners to highly advanced music professionals, for many decades. My students have a very high passing rate in various UK piano examinations, including LRSM and FRSM diplomas. They regularly perform at piano competitions, many of them winning awards and prizes. As a classically trained pianist, I have given over 300 piano performances across the UK and Eastern and South East Europe.
With over 35 years of experience in piano education, I developed various teaching methods to help students solve the most challenging virtuoso parts and increase their technical abilities. My students’ playing primarily benefits from enhancing concentration and their musical memory, learning a more profound understanding of different piano music styles and techniques, working on creative listening and thinking, and improving their sight-reading skills.
As a child, I studied piano in specialised music schools in ex-Yugoslavia and USSR and later, at the Moscow Conservatoire, P.I. Tchaikovsky and Belgrade University of Arts, Faculty of Music, followed by completing my MA at the City University in 1998.
I have been running the London-based competition Around the Globe Piano Music Festival – Piano Competition since 2014.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect to pay for Music Tuition?
There are many factors that affect the price of one-to-one music lessons, such as qualifications, experience, and whether the teacher travels to you or teachers from home.
The Musicians’ Union recommends an hourly rate of £35 for music teaching, however, in our experience, this is normally higher in London and you can expect to pay anything from £40-60 per hour.
Most importantly, you should find the right teacher for you (or your child).
Are your teachers CRB checked?
We don’t verify that teachers on our database are CRB checked, but most music teachers who have worked in the UK school system, will be required to maintain a regular CRB, and will always list it on their profile.
What's the typical length of a lesson?
Lesson length is a common question we get asked.
The first thing we suggest taking into consideration is the age of the student, we find that younger beginners, can benefit from regular lessons of 30 – 45 Minutes each, as their attention span is less than the typical adult.
I'm a Teacher, how can I be listed on your site?
To be listed as a teacher on our site, please fill out the form on our teachers’ sign-up page, with all the relevant information completed. A few things we require, up to date pricing, locations, styles.
Do you have Teachers outside the North London area?
