North London Brass Teachers
On this page you’ll find a range of different Brass Teachers covering the North London area.
All listings have the key information presented, such as; price, coverage area, contact information, travel information and qualifications. Where applicable, each teacher has provided their genre specialities, such as Jazz or Classical, which can help you find the best teacher for the style of music you wish to learn. Each profile has been written and completed by the music teacher themselves.
Please note that none of the teachers on this site have been independently verified by ourselves and we do not verify or ask for a CRB (or equivalent) check, or any proof of qualifications prior to the teachers appearing on this list.
Finding a Brass Teacher
When considering which Brass teacher is for you, think about which style of music you would like to pursue. Most teachers will have one or two styles that they specialise in above others. Our listings provide information about the genre specialities of each teacher on their profile, so you can better assess which teacher is right for the ambitions you have for your musical journey.
We recommend compiling a shortlist of 2-3 teachers which you may like to work with and giving each of them a call to see their availability, introducing yourself and setting up an initial trial lesson.

I’m a London-based professional trumpet player, composer, bandleader and teacher. I regularly perform in a range of bands, orchestras and for recording sessions. I’ve also been teaching students of all levels from beginner to advanced conservatoire level on a regular basis since 2008, including jazz and classical music, trumpet, music theory and harmony.
I enjoy planning lessons and adapting my teaching style so that it best suits the abilities and interests of the student. Having been a student at a specialist music school and at a music conservatoire, along with considerable experience as a professional freelance musician in a range of ensembles and styles of music, I have a strong understanding of efficient practice and instrumental teaching.
Also, if of interest, I have experience (as a teacher and student) with qualifications and syllabuses from beginner to advanced conservatoire level such as ABRSM and Trinity exam boards.

I’m a professional trumpet player based in Muswell HIll. I currently teach several young students (6-10 years) to the ABRSM syllabus and have over 10 years of professional playing experience from Orchestral playing to Big Band and Championship Brass Band.
I’m a graduate of City University London where I studied music and have helped my students with music theory exams including ABRSM Grade 5 theory.
Most importantly I like to keep learning enjoyable and pride myself on adapting my teaching methods to what works best for my students.
Weather you are a complete beginner or already playing I teach at my flat in Muswell Hill or can travel within the local area. I even have a Ptrumpet (in a snazzy red) which can be used for a new student to try out the instrument if they do not have their own.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect to pay for Music Tuition?
There are many factors that affect the price of one-to-one music lessons, such as qualifications, experience, and whether the teacher travels to you or teachers from home.
The Musicians’ Union recommends an hourly rate of £35 for music teaching, however, in our experience, this is normally higher in London and you can expect to pay anything from £40-60 per hour.
Most importantly, you should find the right teacher for you (or your child).
Are your teachers CRB checked?
We don’t verify that teachers on our database are CRB checked, but most music teachers who have worked in the UK school system, will be required to maintain a regular CRB, and will always list it on their profile.
What's the typical length of a lesson?
Lesson length is a common question we get asked.
The first thing we suggest taking into consideration is the age of the student, we find that younger beginners, can benefit from regular lessons of 30 – 45 Minutes each, as their attention span is less than the typical adult.
I'm a Teacher, how can I be listed on your site?
To be listed as a teacher on our site, please fill out the form, with all the relevant information completed. A few things we require, up to date pricing, locations, styles.
Do you have Teachers outside the North London area?
